Where you stay during your visit depends of course on your budget. There are plenty of low-cost accommodation options in the form of cheap hotels, motels, backpackers or motor inns, and they are nearly always clean and provide the basics, such as meals and so on. In fact, people who can afford higher-priced accommodation often prefer to travel in this way, since it is a great way to meet people of all ages, backgrounds and nationalities.

Persons preferring their creature comforts can also travel in style. Four- and five-star hotels are available in all cities and most well-visited tourist spots. Check with your travel agents for some really good deals: the northern hemisphere summer is, for example, often a slow period for Australian tourist spots since this is the Australian winter.

Note: Australian winters, however, may be far hotter than the summers in your own country!
